Welcome to the Dungeons

This is not a traditional RPG. It's rather more like an organic, interactive work of fiction, based in a Live Journal community. Readers as well as authors can influence the development of the plot. However, an author has the right to decide not to allow reader comments, choosing instead to restrict their characters interaction only to other characters. (This should be noted on each journal's user info page.)

Authors are accepted into the community through recommendations by other authors. Currently we are not accepting new authors.

Comments to the characters should be made through replies to each character's journal posts, not through the community posts. (This just helps keep the replies all together.)

Time line

The journals are written in "real time" (which means the dates posted in the various LJs are the actual dates in this world as well.) This places the story five years post-Hogwarts for Harry and his classmates.

The world of The Dungeons

Voldemort was destroyed by a well-placed curse cast by Harry during the Battle of Hogsmeade at the end of Harry's seventh year, thus ending the Second War. The intervening years have been a time of reconstruction in the wizarding world. Fudge was replaced by a new minister, Hortense Starkweather, and a shakeup throughout the Ministry resulted in a number of reform measures being passed. Through the years, however, there have been rumors of possible splinter cells of Death Eaters on the rise. The Order of the Phoenix is still active (though at a significantly reduced level) and keeps tabs on possible Dark activities. Starkweather has recently been replaced as Minister by Julian Knightley.

Most wizards and witches ignore the warning signs. The wizarding world has finally settled back into peace and prosperity, and no one wants to think life could change so drastically again.
